Wittix is a Lithuania-based payments platform offering business and personal accounts, plus payment cards, FX conversion, and an affiliate program. It’s ideal for customers in Europe but also provides global coverage. Is Wittix the right choice for you?
02 Wittix How Does It Compare to Payset

Vigtige pointer

  • Wittix is a global payments service based in and regulated in Lithuania.
  • It offers multi-currency IBAN accounts supporting up to 35 currencies, FX conversion of 75 currencies, plus payment cards and an affiliate program.
  • Though it offers reasonable coverage, we see Wittix’s high fees for businesses in high-risk countries and industries as potential barriers.
  • At Payset, we aim to compete by offering broad access and great pricing.

Wittix is a global payments platform that serves businesses and individuals through its multi-currency IBAN accounts and related offerings.

There’s little information available about the team and founders behind Wittix, but filings provide background details. The company was licensed as an EMI in Lithuania in 2019, allowing it to provide services in Europe and the EEA, although Wittix also provides its services in many other regions.

That makes Wittix a somewhat lesser-known payments option, but one that’s reasonably established and regulated under a leading financial regime.

With that in mind, can Wittix serve your needs?

Why Choose Wittix

Wittix’s main products, its virtual IBAN accounts, are backed by reasonable coverage that should satisfy the needs of its customers.

Its IBANs are tied to European countries — Lithuania by default — but its accounts support worldwide payments via SEPA in the EEA and SWIFT globally.

Wittix’s other services include payment cards, FX conversion, managed support, and other features that are useful in international transfers. Plus, its partner and affiliate program offers potential opportunities to earn commissions.

The company reports significant coverage and adoption: Wittix sagde in late 2025 that it has moved money across 90 countries in 35 currencies, has served more than 3,500 clients, and handled €700 million in transfers over 12 months.

That points to significant progress over less than a decade — but it’s important to consider all service details closely to determine if Wittix meets your needs.

Core Products and Offerings

Wittix’s product line includes the following features:

  • Multi-currency IBAN accounts: Business and personal accounts with Lithuania (LT) IBANs by default, with options for Germany (DE), Denmark (DK), the United Kingdom (GB), and Luxembourg (LU) IBANs.
  • SEPA and SWIFT transfers: Covering more than 90 countries.
  • Dozens of supported currencies: About 23-35 currencies (the total number is unclear in their publicly available communications) for holding and payments, with FX conversion in 75 currencies.
  • Visa cards: Virtual and physical debit cards with support for Google Pay and Apple Pay, plus corporate card issuance options.
  • PayPal and Stripe support: Receive payouts in your Wittix account.
  • Bulk payments, expense tracking, and team management tools.
  • One personal support specialist for each business client.

Pricing and Fees

Wittix offers a large number of account plans with prices that vary significantly based on the customer’s location and risk profile.

Customers based in the EU/EEA and businesses with low risk profiles tend to receive lower rates. Wittix’s fee schedule does allow for users outside the EU/EEA and in high-risk countries and industries, but at higher rates.

We’ve chosen to list just a few of the most important Wittix fees below:

  • Business accounts: €250-€3000 application fee based on location and risk profile, plus €99-€250/month in recurring fees.
  • Personal accounts: No application fee. €0/month for EEA residents, €15/month for non-EEA residents, or €50/month in high-risk countries.
  • SEPA, SWIFT, and internal transfers: Fees vary by tier and transfer type.
  • Debit cards: €4.9/month. €4.5 virtual card order fee and €9 physical card order fee. POS purchase fees, FX fees, loading fees, and other fees apply.
  • Dormant account fee: €200/month (business) or €50/month (personal).
  • Account closure by user request: €150 (business) or €0 (personal).
  • Full pricing can be found on Wittix’s official website.

Compliance Activities and Safeguarding

Wittix is licensed as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) by the Bank of Lithuania, and it safeguards user funds in line with EU and Lithuanian regulations.

These safeguarding practices ensure that user funds are protected and separated from the business funds through account segregation.

This allows for user funds to be placed in certain approved ultra-low-risk instruments, but not in commercial investments or lending arrangements.

UK Companies House records also indicate that Wittix was incorporated in the UK in 2021, though the entity was dissolved in 2024. UK IBANs are still advertised on Wittix’s site, though nuances around UK access are unclear.

Target Audiences and Affiliate Program

Wittix lists several industries that it serves: IT companies, global e-commerce sellers, logistics and construction firms, consultants, marketing agencies, retail and electronics businesses, and internationally operating SMEs.

The company also offers an affiliate program, highlighting business consultants, legal and accounting firms, relocation and support consultants, and digital creators among the candidates for this partnership program.

This affiliate program appears to accept proposals from businesses broadly, but it’s limited to those promoting Wittix in the EU and EEA — not worldwide.

What Are Wittix’s Biggest Limitations?

We see certain areas where Wittix’s offerings may fall short:

  • High application fees: Wittix charges business users €250-€3000 at signup, depending on details, though individuals can apply for free.
  • Many restricted countries: Wittix lists 205 countries where private clients can’t be onboarded, 59 countries where businesses can’t be onboarded, and 59 countries where transactions are prohibited (all subject to change).
  • Industry restrictions: Wittix prohibits several industries, especially certain areas of the financial sector — including crypto exchanges, ICOs, investment training activities, and unlicensed gambling.
  • Unclear currency coverage: Wittix states varying numbers of supported currencies, but does not provide a definite list of currencies.
  • Few payment networks: Wittix allows for transfers via SWIFT, SEPA, and internal transfers. Payset supports more networks, including SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, and CHAPS (GBP), Kronos2 (DKK), and Fedwire and ACH (USD).
  • Past violation: The Bank of Lithuania fined Wittix around 2020 for inadequate protection of customer funds. Wittix had to cover the loss of €31,600 in customer funds with its own finances.

The Bottom Line

We see Wittix as a viable option for some users, especially low-risk businesses based in the EEA who can take advantage of Wittix’s fee structure.

However, we believe there are certain areas where it falls short. Potentially costly fees and outright prohibitions on high-risk countries and industries might make it hard for some users to get a Wittix account.

At Payset, we aim to make onboarding straightforward and highly accessible. With registration in 70+ countries, transfers across 180+ countries, and support for 34+ currencies, we can help you get your money where it needs to go.

Plus, there’s no monetary barrier to entry. Sign-up is free, and we’ve waived monthly fees for a limited time. It’s a better time than ever to join Payset.
