Five structural differences

Inspired by how Wise is great at sending $500,
We built something for moving $500,000.

For high-volume traders, the structural differences in our pricing can be material. At above €2M/month on a recurring basis, our FX fees automatically drop to 0.09%, while still using mid-market rates. But the advantages go beyond pricing.

01 — The whole amount

Your discount applies to every dollar — not just the slice above a bracket.

Wise's published pricing applies discounts incrementally per bracket — the lower rate applies only to the volume above each threshold, not to the full amount. Payset applies a single flat fee to the entire transaction amount once the relevant tier is reached.

The thresholds and rates above are based on publicly available pricing as of 23 June 2026.
02 — The lock

Your discount lasts 30 full days, not "until month-end."

Wise's volume discounts reset on the 1st of every calendar month. Qualify on the 15th and you've got 16 days before you're back to baseline. We lock your tier for 30 calendar days from qualification — wherever it falls.

03 — The window

A 90-day rolling window — built for businesses with normal seasonality.

Based on Wise's published article, once your sending volume crosses a discount threshold within a calendar month, the lower rate applies automatically for the remainder of that month — then resets on the 1st. Payset qualifies volume over a rolling 90-day window, so a slower month doesn't reset your tier.

04 — The fee i

Lower fees on published rates — for customers trading €300k+/month on our core pairs.

Based on publicly available pricing, Payset's fees are lower than Wise's on our core pairs for customers trading €300k+/month consistently — and on every pair at €2M+/month consistently. At €800K/month on EUR/USD, Wise's effective rate is approximately 0.34% after progressive bracket discounts; Payset charges a flat 0.30% on the whole amount at Scale tier. Wise does apply a flat 0.10% above 2M GBP equivalent (~€2.3M/month), applied to the full amount — but only on five major pairs (AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, USD). Payset's 0.09% tier threshold starts at €2M/month average trading volume over a 90-day rolling window and applies to every pair we support. Results vary by corridor and trading profile.

05 — Predictability

One fee. Every pair. Including the exotic ones.

On Wise, the base fee varies by corridor — from 0.30% on USD/SGD to 0.48% on EUR/GBP — before progressive bracket discounts are appliedi. Payset charges the same fee on every pair we support, and your tier discount applies to all of them.

Honest answers

What you're actually wondering.

Aren't you just bashing Wise? Their pricing is famously transparent.+
Wise's pricing is transparent, we're not disputing that. They publish every fee, every bracket, every threshold. Our point is that for high volume traders, the bracket model, monthly reset, and per-pair variance add up to meaningfully more cost than a flat 90-day-locked fee. We respect Wise as a product. We just think we may be a better fit if your business runs on serious recurring FX volume.
Where does Wise actually win?+
For lower-volume senders, freelancers, expats, and businesses trading under $25k/month, Wise is genuinely hard to beat. They have phenomenal UX, instant onboarding, and their mid-market exchange rate with no hidden markup is best-in-class. We're not as competitive for that customer. We're built specifically for higher volume traders where Payset's model — 30-day discount guarantee, flat fee for each tier on every currency pair, 90-day rolling volume window — starts saving real money.
If I qualify on the 15th of the month, what really happens with each provider?+
On Wise: your discount applies until the end of month, then resets. Depending on the month you get 13–16 days of the better rate. On Payset: your discount locks for 30 calendar days from the moment you qualify — so through the 14th of the next month — regardless of any volume fluctuations in between. For businesses that hit the threshold mid-month routinely, that's roughly 2x more days at the discounted rate, every month.
How is the 90-day rolling window calculated?+
We sum your trailing 90 days of FX volume on a continuous rolling basis — not in calendar months. If you've moved $1.8M over the last 90 days (regardless of how it's distributed), you're in our Scale tier. If today's trade puts you over the next threshold, your tier upgrades immediately and locks for 30 days. Wise sums one calendar month volume and resets on the 1st of the next month.
Does Payset really charge the same fee on every currency pair?+
Yes — within your tier, the fee is the same whether you're moving EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/SGD, USD/AED, EUR/GBP, or GBP/AUD. Wise's base fees vary by corridor — from 0.30% on USD/SGD to 0.48% on EUR/GBP — before progressive bracket discounts apply. If your business trades a mix of pairs, our uniform pricing makes forecasting simpler and the cost difference can compound at scale.
Hvor hurtigt kan min virksomhedskonto oprettes?+
Most Payset accounts are approved within 1–3 business days once all documents are verified. Priority onboarding is available for regulated or time-sensitive businesses.
How fast can I switch to Payset?+
Send us your last 90 days of statements and we'll come back with a line-by-line cost comparison and a quote on your tier. We run KYB in parallel, so by the time you've reviewed the savings model, your account is usually ready to fund.
Are you regulated to the same standard?+
Payset is authorised and regulated by the FCA as an Electronic Money Institution — the same regulatory category as Wise's UK entity. Client funds are safeguarded in segregated accounts at tier-1 banks. We can share full regulatory documentation in our onboarding pack.
