Payset users can expect a variety of new features this year. From debit cards to crypto wallets and a brand new mobile app — here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming in 2026 and how it will change the way you send, store, and receive funds in your Payset account.

Key Takeaways

  • In 2025, we made progress on several fronts as we launched a new website and expanded into the U.S. and Denmark.
  • This year, we’re adding even more features, from debit cards and a new mobile app to a streamlined setup process.
  • Plus, EU users will be able to store and send crypto with Payset.

Major Advances in 2025

2025 was a great year at Payset — not just for us but also for our users — as we extended and refined our lineup of payment services.

The summer marked the introduction of a refined user experience: a sleek new website and a revised account dashboard, making our global payments platform easier to use than ever before.

Throughout the year, we expanded our services to new regions, adding Danish IBANs in May and U.S. business eligibility in December.

As a result of these efforts:

  • we doubled our monthly transaction volumes
  • and tripled our monthly account openings

This stands as excellent feedback that we’re delivering valuable new services to our clients.

Now for a Monumental 2026

Last year’s success has laid the foundation for even more improvements going forward: Payset users can expect at least four new and improved features to arrive in their accounts during 2026.

From debit cards and cryptocurrency to a new mobile app and onboarding process, here’s what you can look forward to this year.

Virtual and Physical Debit Cards

Expected: May 2026

PP2

This is what we’re most excited about: debit cards that allow you to spend your Payset balance almost anywhere cards are accepted.

  • With multi-currency support and the ability to link with external Google Pay and Apple Wallets, your payments will go even further.
  • You’ll also get advanced features, including ways to instantly freeze and unfreeze your card, issue employee cards, and edit spending limits.

This addition aims to bridge any gaps not covered by our multi-currency IBAN accounts, serving as a widely accepted payment option for online and in-person transactions where cards are most important.

We’ll start by offering virtual cards, then introduce physical cards at a later date. Cards will be available to personal and business users alike!

Cryptocurrency Wallets (EU Only)

Expected: July 2026

We’re also gearing up to launch cryptocurrency wallets so EU clients can trade, transfer, or hold various crypto tokens in your Payset account.

Subject to regulatory authorization in the European Union, we hope to introduce support for cryptocurrencies in summer of 2026. This feature is for EU users only — we don’t plan to offer crypto support in the UK or elsewhere at present.

EU users can already take advantage of our existing support for crypto exchanges by transferring in fiat currency from select trading platforms

We believe diversity of payment options is key, and that a combination of crypto and global currencies will help get your payments as far as possible.

A Mobile App

Expected: September 2026

We’re building a full-featured mobile app: a slick new way to access Payset on your smartphone anywhere, any time.

We’re still deciding on the details, but we plan to have the app cover most of the Payset features you know and love — and we also intend to add full compatibility with our upcoming Payset debit cards.

Prior to launch, you can use Payset on your mobile device. Our regular web dashboard works with most desktop and mobile browsers.

Our upcoming mobile app aims to offer you a more powerful and efficient way to access Payset on the go!

A Revamped Onboarding System

Expected: December 2026

Finally, we’re launching a new onboarding system to streamline and simplify the process of joining Payset.

This redesign aims to provide an even better UX, speeding up new user setups and thoroughly integrating every part of our site.

We’re also improving the way we handle information requests, reducing the amount of documentation that you’ll need to provide as we shift toward using public information during sign-up.

In fact, many companies that are based in the UK won’t need to upload documents during onboarding at all.

It’s all part of our main onboarding goal: getting you set up with Payset faster so you can start using your account as soon as possible.

A UK multi-currency account can streamline how you manage your finances. Whether for business or personal use, a multi-currency account provides you with added freedom and flexibility and removes barriers to payments and transfer methods.

Here is everything you need to know about UK multi-currency accounts.

A Payset UK multi-currency account is a single account with which you can hold, send, and receive funds in up to 38 currencies. This allows business or personal account holders to save endless time and money on foreign exchange, and money transfers, which from a traditional bank account would be far more expensive and slow.

From your personal UK-based IBAN account, you can transfer money to bank accounts around the world as well as send and receive free and instant transfers to and from other Payset clients. You can send funds using a diverse network of payment networks, including SWIFT, SEPA, Target2, Faster Payments, CHAPS, and more.

When you exchange funds from one currency to another, there are no margins added to our exchange rates and the fees are clearly displayed before you click send. If you, for example, work with multiple currencies, make purchases in other countries, travel frequently, invest in foreign currencies, pay staff in other countries, or receive payments in other currencies, a multi-currency account can save you time, money, and work compared to a traditional bank account.

There are lots of banking institutions and financial services that will aid you in opening a multi-currency account. Often they can allow you to convert and transfer a considerable number of currencies.

Before you open a UK multi-currency account with any platform or service, make sure you have explored all of the different options available to you and have found the best type of account to suit your financial needs.

How Does a UK Multi-Currency Account Work?

A UK multi-currency account works in the same way as a standard bank account or electronic wallet. Although the services provided will change depending on where you choose to open your account and who you choose to open the account with, all multi-currency accounts should allow you to:

In the same way that fees can occur with a standard bank account you may run into additional charges with a UK multi-currency account.

You could be charged for a number of actions including; making withdrawals, account opening and closure fees, transfer fees, and more.

The frequency or amount of these charges will often vary and if you ask your banking agency they will usually be able to tell you exactly how much you will be charged and which services you will be charged for before you open your account.

Alternative Options to Consider Before Opening a UK Multi-Currency Account

There are many alternatives to opening a UK multi-currency account. For example, there are also money transfer services and online electronic wallets such as Payset that allow you to send your money in over 34 currencies without the need for a UK multi-currency account. You can start sending money across the globe or in person today using your existing bank account.
